Hebert Construction

Four Generations of Leadership and Value

The Hebert legacy is what the company is built upon today—a level and quality of service that exceeds our clients’ expectations. A fourth-generation family-owned business, Hebert Construction has grown over the past 70+ years from a small residential carpentry company to one of northern New England’s leaders in the construction business.

Edward Hebert, an independent carpenter, formed a residential carpentry company in Lewiston named Edward Hebert Construction in 1943. The company quickly rose to prominence as a premier homebuilder in the Lewiston/Auburn area. Edward was joined by his sons, Richard and Daniel, before retiring from the business in 1973.

Following in their father’s footsteps, Richard and Daniel joined the family business and the name was changed to Edward Hebert & Sons; Richard joined in 1954 and Daniel in 1969. The business continued to grow and earned a reputation for quality construction and honest work. Together, Richard and Daniel oversaw the expansion of the company from a small operation of skilled carpenters working out of a garage, into much of what the company is today. In 1972, the business expanded its field of construction to include commercial, industrial and institutional work as well as millwork. When Edward retired in 1973, Richard and Dan took leadership.

Michael, Richard’s son, joined the company after graduating from Northeastern University in 1985. Since his joining, the company has witnessed sustained growth. Mike worked twenty years in the field prior to his management role in the home office. With Richard’s retirement in 2001, the Hebert legacy continued with Dan and Mike. In 2000, the name was changed to Hebert Construction.

Timothy, Dan’s son, joined the family business in 2002 after graduating from Wentworth Institute of Technology. When Dan retired in July of 2015, the business was in the capable hands of Mike & Tim.

Simon, Mike’s son, joined the business in 2013 after graduating from Syracuse University beginning the fourth generation.

In our 70+ years of experience, Hebert Construction has laid a rock-like foundation and established an enviable reputation for diligence and integrity that lives on within the present organization. Now a leader in northern New England’s construction industry, our clients experience the company’s dedication to deliver its signature blend of personal service and quality work.
