Hebert Construction completed a comprehensive renovation of Mill No. 1, breathing new life into this historic structure while delivering a modern, fully functional workspace. The scope of work included significant structural upgrades throughout the building, along with the complete replacement of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire suppression systems. A new stair shaft and elevator were constructed to provide efficient vertical access across all five floors of the mill.
The centerpiece of the project was a 48,000 square foot fourth-floor fit-up for Grand Rounds’ new office headquarters. The finished space thoughtfully preserves the mill’s iconic character — exposed brick walls, original timber beams, and heavy wood columns — while seamlessly integrating contemporary open office layouts, modern conference facilities, and updated building systems. The result is a striking blend of historic charm and modern functionality that stands as a testament to Hebert Construction’s expertise in complex adaptive reuse projects.
